High-Performance Precision – KNESTEL Launches New Analog Measurement Module

Maximum Accuracy and Flexibility for Demanding Energy and Control Systems

With its new precision analog measurement module, KNESTEL expands its measurement and control technology portfolio with a powerful component for the ultra-precise acquisition of current, voltage and temperature. The module has been specifically designed for applications requiring exceptional dynamics, accuracy and reliability – for example in energy storage systems, test benches, or highly dynamic drive and control applications.

Its modular architecture enables simultaneous multi-channel operation and offers scalable expansion options to capture multiple measurement points synchronously and at high resolution. Via EtherCAT and CAN interfaces, the module integrates seamlessly into existing systems. Thanks to an extremely low EtherCAT latency of under 100 μs, the system responds virtually without delay – ideal for highly dynamic control loops and time-critical real-time measurements.

Precision Meets Speed

With a measurement accuracy of below 0.005% of the measured value and a sampling rate of up to 20 kHz, the module sets new benchmarks for fast and precise acquisition of analog signals. Even high-frequency signal patterns, load transients or complex control processes are captured with precision and repeatability. Temperature-compensated signal processing ensures stable results across the entire operating range – a decisive advantage for applications where measurement accuracy, dynamics and response speed are equally critical.

Flexible Integration into Custom Systems

Thanks to its modular design, the analog measurement module can be integrated flexibly into a wide range of system architectures. KNESTEL also offers customer-specific adaptations – for example in terms of signal paths, measurement ranges, interfaces or mechanical design. This ensures the system can be optimally tailored to individual requirements – from one-off builds to large-scale series integration.

Future-Proof Solution for Emerging Technologies

The measurement module is engineered for modern, forward-looking applications. Typical fields of use include:
– Energy storage and battery systems, including charge and discharge testing
– Test benches for electric drives, power electronics and component development
– Power-Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHIL) systems and real-time simulations
– Renewable-energy applications, such as photovoltaic inverters or fuel cells
– Research and development in control engineering, electromobility and power electronics
– Industrial automation environments with stringent requirements for signal quality, latency and synchronisation

Technology Expertise Made in Hopferbach

Developed and manufactured at KNESTEL’s headquarters in Hopferbach, the new measurement module combines state-of-the-art electronics engineering with decades of experience in analog and digital signal processing. The result is an innovative, compact solution that unites maximum precision, industrial robustness and system flexibility.

With its combination of <0.005% measurement accuracy, sampling rates up to 20 kHz, advanced communications capability and ultra-low EtherCAT latency below 100 μs, KNESTEL delivers a future-proof platform for the precise acquisition and evaluation of analog signals – in both industrial series applications and research and development environments.

KNESTEL will be represented by Daniel König at the booth of the Open Direct Current Alliance (ODCA) at SPS in Nuremberg from 11–13 November 2025.
